Art
Throughout the day we are going to have on site some very talented artists who work in many different fields, in the same field.
We want them to create some masterpieces on the day as well as showcasing their existing work. Whether it's contributing to our graffiti
wall, making moziacs or animating the largest homemade bug invasion you've ever seen we know they'll inspire everyone
to have a go themselves. We'll be adding more artists to the programme over the coming months.
Culprit Art AKA Matt Pattinson
Matt is an old friend. He is an extremely talented illustrator and has had weekly residencies in TimeOut
and the Guardian Guide to name but two. His interpretions of the 'political' are entertaining and astute.
Our son has some of his robot drawings which we must of photocopied 100 times and he has coloured
in 100 times. There is no end to it. We hope Matt will knock out 60 second masterpieces on request to be coloured
in by kids and adults alike until his hand falls off..
Cheeky Beef AKA Benjamin Hall
Ben will be running animation workshops as well as showcasing some of his cheeky beefy work. More details to follow soon..
Ian Mitchell
Ian will be collecting people's thoughts, confessions and inner most feelings throughout the day and transforming them into
digital art works. What better way to capture the many many musings floating around Baldersby Park on July 17th.
Wendy Greenwood
Wendy works in the medium of kilned formed glass making assorted jewellery, glass bowls and dishes to large glass panels.
She will be exhibiting her work as well as giving some demonstrations of her techniques.
The Compulsive Scribbler AKA David Setter
We found this guy online. Immediately we fell in love with his stuff and his style and brought one of his very
reasonably priced originals. He scribbles compulsively, he can't help it and he can't stop...
David Stephenson - Artist Blacksmith
When David is not relaxing in his field he is making sculptural and functional items at Lockton in North York
Moors National Park. He uses traditional hand forging techniques, often applying these to contemporary designs. David
will be bringing along his mobile forge and will no doubt be testing the ground in Baldersby Park for comfort. Hot stuff.
Jane Robson
Fresh from her 3 year assignment tiling the bottom of Thirsk swimming pool Jane is delighted to be off her knees
and showing off her work and mosiac skills for us at the Deer Shed Festival. She'll be running mosiacing workshops for the kids
as well as doing a new piece of work based upon our logo to hang in the sheds for years to come...
Maria Silmon
Maria works on photography, digital art and video, often taking her inspiration from the beautiful North York moores.
She has promised to create a video work for us on the day which we can project once the sun has gone down...
