Dr Amy-Jane Beer is a biologist turned naturalist, writer, and passionate advocate for equal access to nature. With over 20 years’ experience as a science writer and editor, she’s contributed to more than 40 natural history books and writes for The Guardian, British Wildlife and BBC Wildlife.

Amy-Jane is part of the land rights campaign RightToRoam.org.uk and honorary President of Friends of the Dales. Her award-winning book The Flow won the 2023 Wainwright Prize. At Deer Shed, she’ll chair an in-conversation event with Jason, lead a Conversations with Nature walk, and appear across the Right to Roam sessions all weekend.
